Transportation
The transportation industry covers all kinds of non-automotive commercial transport — from off-road vehicles like quad bikes to off-highway connections such as trains. The heavy-duty machinery and vehicles used on construction sites and at quarries — such as construction machinery, diggers, excavation equipment, pallet trucks, cherry pickers, rock crushers and mining equipment — also fall under this sector.
Reliability and safety are of the utmost importance in the transportation sector. Although the vehicles produced in the consumer automotive industry must be able to withstand harsh environments, the demands are nothing in comparison to the extreme and rugged conditions non-automotive commercial transportation has to contend with. Products (and components to some extent) in this sector have to be shock and temperature resistant and require varying degrees of ingress protection depending on the final application.
Meeting the demands of harsh applications
In this field, ingress such as dust and water can wreak havoc on equipment. As such, ingress protection is critical to ensure product reliability and performance. Products that will be subject to long-term immersion in water or powerful high-pressure water and steam jets will need to have the highest ingress protection ratings of IP68 and IP69K, respectively.
At Liad Electronics, we provide a range of electronics manufacturing services — including PCB and cable assemblies and complete electronics box builds — for this sector. Over the last 35 years, we have been involved in a number of exciting projects, producing components for anything from smart motorway electronic signs and electronics for metro and mainline trains to mining equipment and joysticks for heavy-duty vehicles.
We know how important it is to deliver safety-critical components manufactured to exact specifications to meet the demands of these harsh applications. This is why we only manufacture electronics to the highest quality levels, including IPC-A-610 standards for PCB assemblies and IPC/WHMA-A-620 for cable assemblies to ensure optimal performance and reliability every time.
